Karakul herd Lovedale - home of one of the oldest Karakul studs in Namibia - since 1946. We farm with black, white and grey karakul in stud form as well as in commercial flock form. Karakul is still the main farming activity with round about 1200 active breeding karakul ewes and many champions and record holders were bred out of the Lovedale stud. We try to improve the quality of our stud year after year and to satisfy all our customers. Plus minus 50 Karakul rams are presented on ram auctions yearly in April, July and September. The Karakul stud has been in the family and has been improved for three generations. Boergoats

Other livestock studs include Jersey cattle (for dairy), Boergoats (for bush grasing) and Afrikaner sheep (new addition). Merino

Commercial livestock farming consist of SA Mutton Merino (wool and mutton), Vandor sheep (wool and mutton), White Dorper (mutton), Persian sheep (mutton) and Hereford cattle (Beef production). We also bred Nooitgedagter horses for use on the farm. Sires and dams of all breeds are available to customers on order. All animals are free ranch farming in 64 camps. Only FANMEAT (Farm Assured Namibian Meat) are produced which is free from growth stimulants, antibiotics and feeding of animal byproducts is prohibed, as prescribed by the EU for export purposes.
